Libourne
Located next to Saint-Émilion, you will its wine-wise equal, Libourne. It is a city of business, where some maintenance is long overdue. And yet, Libourne is still a nice place to pay a visit on market days (Tuesday, Friday and Sunday) on the great square in the center (the Place Abel Surchamp), as well as on the square in front of the Lycée Max Linder, where the terrace of bar L’Orient is a great place to hang out in the summer.
Do not miss out on the newly constructed leisure center, located behind the railway station. It hosts a bowling alley, beer café, pool billiard, and fitness center.
For a good lunch we direct you to Le Bridge, a restaurant situated opposite the station, where a delicious and every-changing Menu du Jour is offered for a very decent price. The staff is friendly, a wide range of wine is offered, and the food is simple but tasty.
Behind the station, you can park your car for free, but did you know that in many French towns and cities you can park for free specifically during lunchtime (between 12.00 and 14.00)? (Check the meter)
